Spatial variability of nutrient sources determining phytoplankton Chlorophyll-a concentrations in the Bay of Bengal

Primary production is a key marine ecosystem driver in the Bay of Bengal and important for societies economies surrounding countries. Although availability inorganic nutrients known to control primary this region, specific nutrient sources that affect different parts bay have not been identified. In study, we assess importance from determining chlorophyll-a concentration, an indicator production, by conducting multiple linear regression satellite-derived sea surface height anomaly, temperature; modelled dust deposition; situ river discharge 1997 2016. River-borne were up approximately 200 km coast. Deep-ocean influenced concentrations mainly south-western western bay, whereas wind-borne more central eastern bay.
